Caring for Your Alchemy Shoes

Our shoes are handmade with natural leathers and traditional weaving techniques. Like anything alive, they respond to how they’re treated. With care, they will age beautifully and walk with you for years to come.

Breaking Them In

• Huaraches and loafers are designed to mold to your feet over time.
  

• The leather may feel snug at first, this is intentional. With wear, it softens and becomes uniquely yours.
  
  

Cleaning

• Wipe gently with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth.
  

• Avoid soaking in water. If they do get wet, let them air dry naturally, away from direct heat or sunlight.
  
  

Conditioning

• Every few months, apply a small amount of natural leather conditioner to keep the hide supple.
  

• Test a small patch first, as conditioners may slightly darken natural leathers.
  
  

Storage

• Store in a cool, dry place.
  

• Use shoe trees or gently stuff with paper to help maintain their shape.
  
  

Aging Gracefully

• Natural leather will darken and develop a patina with time, this is part of their story.
  

• Small marks and creases are not flaws, but the record of your journey.
